Congratulations to the latest scholarship recipient from STT Delta Beta Chapter USF College of Nursing

This scholarship will greatly impact my success and wellbeing as a doctoral student at the University of South Florida (USF). I plan to finish my doctoral degree. Striving to create the utmost scholarly work, I plan to present my final poster at both local and national professional organization conferences.
In the future, I plan to enroll in a post-graduate fellowship and commit to continuing my education throughout my life as a nurse. It is a great honor to be selected for this scholarship and represent the Delta Beta Chapter as a nursing leader both clinically and in the community.
    Sincerely,
    K. T.

  • Holiday food drive a great success

Thank you to the Delta Beta at Large members, faculty, staff and students at the University of Tampa and the University of South Florida nursing programs, the staff at Morton Plant Mease Countryside Hospital Emergency Department, and Signature Financial Group for generously supporting our chapter’s Feeding Our Children Fall Food Drive. Together, we collected much needed food for area families. Thank you to Latiena Williams for coordinating these efforts along with local Social Workers based at Robles Elementary and Fairmont Elementary Schools to identify families.

The cash donations allowed June Llerena and Latiena Williams to purchase additional food and provide each family with a $20.00 Wal Mart gift card to supplement the food boxes. These food boxes included nonperishable food items to assist families facing food insecurities. A few of the families that received food boxes included a 20 year military veteran and single father of 3 who lost his job due to COVID-19; a, a family of 4 who are lost now are surviving on one income due to COVID-19 job loss, and two single mothers who lost jobs due to COVID-19. We also assisted a single mother of 4 who is battling pancreatic cancer who is unable to work during her treatment, and a single mother of 2 who is working 2 jobs to support her 2 children one with cystic fibrosis. We also provide assistance to a single mother of 5 who is a full time student trying to make a better life for her family. In total 8 families received a food boxes and we  helped 23 children. Latiena and June hope that our efforts will prompt other chapters to support efforts to assist families in their communities facing food insecurities.

  • Happy Thanksgiving

From all of us at Delta Beta Chapter at Large, wishing you a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
